Prior experience is preferable but not mandatory. In addition to the after-school club meetings, the team will meet during one STAR period a week to prepare for the required presentation portion of this year’s competition: Into Orbit! Solving a real world problem related to space travel. During the competition, the kids are judged on FLL core values such as sportsmanship and teamwork. Participation on the team requires interest, focus and dedication in this fun, fast-paced and exciting setting. More information about this competition can be found at: The instructor, John Carbonell, is an electrical and software engineer, who has been leading after-school STEM activities for 10 years. He has taught youth robotics classes and camps for various organizations. Westland parent, Cathy Stocker, will assist John and lead the STAR and weekend sessions.
Adding this activity will only add your student the wait list. Should space become available, you will need to register for the activity at that time.
