In this survey of microbiology topics, students will explore genetic traits, both dominant and recessive and the impact of certain traits at the global level; extract DNA from a variety of fruits and cheek cells and compare the characteristics; learn how to create and stain slides to examine the cell structure of plants, equine bone, fur, hair, and skin cells; conduct a variety of tests on yeast and examine the products of fermentation.
